This website is purely informational. It uses no cookies, no analytics or tracking services and no advertising networks. Registration is not possible; enquiries reach us exclusively by email or telephone.
When you access the website, our hosting provider’s web server automatically processes information transmitted by your browser (server log files): IP address, date and time of access, page requested, referrer URL, browser and operating system used. This data serves to ensure trouble-free operation and to defend against attacks and is deleted after a short period. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing the website securely).
Note for the operator: Add the name and registered office of the hosting provider and its log file retention period here; conclude a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) with the host if required.
If you contact us by email, telephone or fax (e.g. for a room enquiry), we process the data you provide (name, contact details, content of the enquiry) in order to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (initiation or performance of a contract) and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for processing and no statutory retention obligations (e.g. tax and commercial law periods, registration form under the German Federal Registration Act) prevent this.
This website uses the fonts “Fraunces” and “Inter”, which are hosted locally on our own server. When a page is loaded, the font files are retrieved exclusively from this server. There is no connection to third-party servers (in particular not to Google), and no personal data – such as your IP address – is transmitted to third parties.
For the directions we embed map sections from OpenStreetMap, a service of the OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF), United Kingdom. When the map loads, your IP address is transmitted to the OSMF. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (interest in providing comprehensible directions). Information: OSMF Privacy Policy.
Hiking route link (komoot): The info windows on the excursion map contain a “Show hiking route” button. This is an ordinary link to the route planner of komoot (komoot GmbH, Potsdam, Germany). As long as you do not click it, no connection to komoot is established and no data is transmitted there. If you do click it, komoot opens in a new window; from that moment komoot's privacy policy applies, over whose content we have no influence: komoot.com/privacy.
On the “Activities” page we display current weather data for Schönwald. When the page loads, this is retrieved via the free interface Bright Sky, which provides the open data of the Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD, Germany’s national meteorological service, Offenbach am Main). Your IP address is transmitted to the operator of the interface in the process; no cookies are set and no user tracking takes place. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing guests with current weather information). The data comes from the DWD’s open data programme and is used with attribution under the German Geodata Usage Ordinance (GeoNutzV). Information: brightsky.dev.
On the “Webcam” page we show general views of the centre of Schönwald. The camera is aligned and its resolution chosen so that individuals and vehicle registration plates cannot be identified. No targeted observation of individuals takes place.
